Ultimate Juicy Lucy burger

This is the final recipe in our summer series with Dicksons butchers. The Juicy Lucy burger is oozing with melted mature cheddar cheese and the highlight of any BBQ!

  • 400 g Dicksons beef mince
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 60 g mature cheddar
  • 1 tbs garlic salt
  • 4 gem lettuce leaves
  • Ketchup & mustard
  • Sliced onion
  • Sliced gherkins


  • Mix the beef mince and the seasonings together. Split into 8 equal balls and press flat between baking paper.
  • Place a 15g piece of cheddar between two patties, seal the edges and shape to equal thickness.
  • Cook for 5 minutes each side on a BBQ. Add to bun with lettuce, sauce, onions and gherkins.
